每每在恐龙群附近看到猛犸象我都会觉得很怪异。 猛犸象在整座岛上都有种鹤立鸡群的感觉，因此它们几乎无所畏惧，除了霸王龙。猛犸象喜欢生活在寒冷地区，并喜欢成群觅食。 我真的不确定猛犸象群是如何在岛上的山脉中找到足够的牧草。 他们应该终日穿梭在寒冷的山顶和繁茂的山脚间生活觅食。也许猛犸象群的存在是山顶贫瘠的主要原因。
家养
猛犸象是很难驯化的。这并非因为它们天生的固执，而是因为弄晕它们所花费的时间实在是长的无法想象。然而，一旦猛犸象被驯化，它们会是岛上唯一一种可以将树木连根拔起而保持树木完好无损的动物。

Seeing the likes of Mammuthus steincaput alongside dinosaurs is still strange. This behemoth towers over many creatures on the Island, and does not seem to fear anything but the Tyrannosaurus. Mammoths generally thrive in colder areas, and have a herd mentality. I'm honestly not certain how the herds of Mammoths find enough plant life to graze on some of the Island's mountains. They must spend much of their time travelling between the mountains' cold summit and more lush base. Or maybe the Mammoth herds are the main reason the summits are so barren.
Domesticated
Mammuthus steincaput is a difficult beast to domesticate. Not because they are inherently stubborn, but because knocking one out to begin the taming process takes great effort. Once tamed, however, Mammoths are one of the only creatures on the island that can uproot trees without shattering them.
